Becoming Jane is a 2007 film inspired by the early life of author Jane Austen (portrayed by Anne Hathaway), and her posited relationship with Thomas Langlois Lefroy (played by BAFTA-winning Scottish actor James McAvoy). Julie Walters, James Cromwell and Maggie Smith also appear in this picture. The film was produced in cooperation with several companies, including BBC Films and the Irish Film Board.

this movie in one side is beautiful, but in second is soooo sad, I always cry when I watch him.

It's sooo romatic when he look on her.

I always want to somebody look on me in this same way like his look at her

It would nearly kill me to not be with the one that I loved....I say that Jane and Tom are people of very strong characters in this one. They have the courage to stay apart for the the benefit of others. Such a tragic and romantic sacrifice.

I definately cry every single time on this film, particualry "A Last Reading".

@bavarianprincess8 I SOO agree. Its so suttle after the bigger sounding music before, that it kinda breaks your heart </3 back then when marriages weren't allowed between people of different classes (most of the time) im sure this sort off heart break happened a lot. :( i hate the sleez that wrote that letter in this movie saying jane was promised to some wealthy guy!! :(

It was an act of true love from her side to walk away from him, for their marriage would have ruined him and his family, for they were dependant of him.

That makes the whole thing so sad. But indeed a beautiful ending. Not entirely satisfactory though, would have loved to see them together in the end:)
