have any of you ever been to a carolina game? i go to all of the home games. the band starts to play 2001 and you get chills. we may not have the best football team ever but we have pride in our players. no matter whether we win or lose our stadium is filled to the brim every single game. we always have a good time no matter what the ending score is. its not always about the score. loosen up and have a good time. and i agree rubbing a rock and running down a hill is completely original. NOT!!!!!

Having attended a few USC games since 1978, and having been a fan of the opponent (ECU) for those games - representing the enemy, gotta give it up to the Gamecocks. I love the USC fans, their enthusiasm, their stadium, their entrance...but it's the fans - losing their collective minds for several MINUTES straight, and then the intro, that makes it special. It's a good thing that LOUD can't crumble a stadium or that place would have been dust years ago.

@ggscott1 There is a reason our mascot is the Gamecock. Unlike most schools, our mascot has a historical meaning. Plus, Cocky is one of the most well known mascots in college football. We show our pride everyday, and we especially show it on gameday. I hope to never see our mascot change! GO COCKS!!!

I go to all the home carolina games. and i went to a couple clemson games last years. I can barely hear 2001 from all the noise in willie brice. its so much quiter in the intro at death valley. and i was in the clemson student section. But i do have to hand it to em, the spellling out clemson thing at each part of the stadium cheer is pretty cool.

i like both teams...however sounds silly when one talks about "unoriginal" when Clemson, Auburn, AND LSU have Tigers as their mascots and also play the Tiger Rag.
