  • This man, after living through the Hoods sinking and reliving the painful memory every day, still served in the Royal Navy till 1973. Most guys would have called it quits long before then. I recall watching the video of the Hoods underwater expedition in which he got to lay the memorial plaque aside her bow. The look in his eyes were of heartache yet a since of relief with closure by finally honoring his 1,415 fallen brothers. I was very saddened by his death. /salute

  • RIP

  • Ted, RIP!

  • We owe so much to the "Greatest Generation," and we have very few left. I admire Ted for his survival and his service. We will always revere men who go down to the sea in ships. I can't believe how long ago that was. I remember Dad not talking about being a Pharmacist Mate with the Marines on Guadalcanal when I was in my teens. He would tend to talk more about horseplay. He's been gone now about 6 1/2 years and remains my hero. I miss him more than I can ever say.

  • 70 years ago to this very day you and your lost crew became legends.People grow old and memories fail but history will never forget.. H.M.S Hood And Her Courageous Crew.R.I.P Ted & Shipmates.XX

  • May he join with the rest of his shipamtes from the Pride of the Royal Navy. Nothing but the utmost respect and dignity should be given now that there are no living links to the tragic events of the Hood during the action against Bismark so long ago
