Let's Play Battletoads Part 1: Pimple's Plight

Battletoads was created by Tradewest/Rare and released for the Nintendo.

In a galaxy very far away, the fair and lovely Princess Angelica is
out for a cruise with Pimple. Your first thought may be, "What kind of
girl would want to hang out with a guy named after a puss-filled skin
blemish?" Well, he's not only named Pimple but he's a hulking man frog,
so our conclusion would be Angelica likes Eccentric fellows. Sounds pretty kinky. As they
float about space in their 1957 Space Shuttle, their vehicle is swallowed
up by the Gargantua, a huge space station commanded by the voluptuous and
thoroughly foxxy Dark Evil Queen. Man, is she hot! With that raven-black
hair, fine figure, sexy leather...umm, er, I mean uh she's just a video
game character. She has kidnapped the Frog/girl couple and dares
Professor Bird Guy and his troop of toads to rescue them. Pimple's
brothers, Rash and Zitz, are up for the challenge and the game is on!!

We make our way through Ragnarok's Canyon taking on Psyco Pigs, Walkers and Dragons, and manage to bust up the Tall Walker. We then fall down the Wookie Hole while fending off Ravens, the even more ravenous Razor Ravens, the very hungry Saturn Toad Traps, the shocking Evil Electric AM Radios, and the very evil Electric Beams. Then it's time for Turbo Tunnel. After kicking the crap out of some Rat Packs and Life Invaders, we Jet Bike through one of the most frustrating but awesome levels ever.

I never found the Turbo Tunnel THAT hard. Rat Race and Clinger Wingers, though...*shudders*

I love that high-pitched shattering sound the Walker-remnants make when you break them with the Walker leg. The SFX and especially the music are wonderful in this game.

Rat Race is ridiculous. It's so bad that I have to use the fucking warp trick WITH SAVE STATES to beat the God forsaken level.

turbo tunnel is all about reflexes. and not doing too much in the level. i have seen people play this game and overcompensate in this level, just let the bike do its thing and its all about rhythm, and the blinking light is a warp to level 5

That blinking thing you see at the end of the Turbo Tunnel is a warp to Surf City.

What makes this game so hard is you HAVE to memorize everything. You can get past 5 levels or so blindly if you have insanely good reflexes, but there are 14 levels. They're all long as shit, and having the best reflexes on the planet just won't cut it anymore after level 5. Beyond that point, this game becomes Dragon's Lair. It's been 20 years and I just picked up my old NES out of storage with this game a few months ago, and I'm only on level 9. I probably should be using an emulator.

This is THE hardest game I have... EVER played!!! I only made it to 11:51 when I was 7 years. I always thought that it was the 3d and the last stage of the game and I was so proud of myself that I got so far. LOLz!! ^_^
