The story is first being told in English, then sung in Papiamentu, the native language of Curaçao. Filmed at the concert for the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Slavery in the General Assembly Hall in the UN-building in New York, March 25 2009.

I've seen a percussionist doing what that guy is doing too. With that hoe in the chinese bowl filled with water. I think Ive seen him with Paquito dRivera and David Sanchez in Carnegie Hall in new york. He was plain amazing!!! I think his name was Pernell Saturnino and if I'm not mistaken he's from the dutch caribbean too. Its amazing what he could do with that thang... Incredible
