This is a video of a 1997 TTC Orion VI #9220 on Route 29 Dufferin at Wilson station. The Orion VI is yet another bus that is retiring, one may be confused because its newer than most buses but its the fact that its a CNG(Compressed natural gas) bus. The VI in particular would be unpractical to convert to diesel so it will be retired while the TTC stops using CNG for good. The TTC expects to retire all of them before 2007, more than half of the Orion VI have been retired and many be found sitting at Wilson in their dead lot.

Edit: This bus has been retired in November 28, 2006

  • Notice that the purchase of the Orion VI was politically motivated by Howard Moscoe since he wanted to brag about saving jobs, accesibility and new buses just to make himself look good politically.

Basically the Orion VIs had a lot of problems such as wheelchair ramps not being deployed, tie rods near the axles that will "snap", leaky NG tanks and didn't even last close to 10 years.

  • Those buses had a nice sound. I`ll miss them very much ttc.

  • same here. i wish they put these buses on the 133 neilson route.
