sometimes when I set up a send and choose it on he channel settings nothing happens, usually the effect comes through but not always and I'm doing the exact same thing each time, can anyone shed light on this?

Might be useful for auditioning ideas before re writing a hi hat line...every one has diffrent ways of working..

Why would you want a sidechain to interfere with the hihats like that when you could just program it to be that way in the first place. Seems rather pointless
