This pre-Civil War home is hidden in a hollow in Izard County. It is truly a snapshot of the past. The House is a two-story double pen dogtrot very much like the Wolf House in Norfork, Ar. On its grounds is a square-log Mule Barn, a Cow Barn, a Smokehouse, Chickenhoue, Carriage House, and Limestone Springhouse.

  • Don't know if it ever will be restored. But, I can assure you, I'll do what I can to see it has a chance of being restored.

  • We intend to investigate something we've recently been told about this place...it's possible this site was originally settled by French traders!

  • Noticed, here, that you mentioned the Wolf House in Norfolk. I'm a great-great-great grandson of the Major, and have photos of me behind the house takin' a leak when I was about 4. Most of my relations there live in Mountain Home, granpa Wolf was born in Flippin and cowboyed in Missouri for a while. Then moved to New York. Do you know if this house is being restored?

  • this must have been so lovely in its new days

  • I am absolutely enchanted wih this place.
