Type: Traction

Features:

Directional chime: no
Directional indicator: sort of, has dial floor indicator
Floor chime: no
Floor indicator: yes
Stop/Run switch: yes
Emergency phone: no but operator has a walkie-talkie

I knew that something like this would have been installed at the Coit Tower originally but it was a pleasant surprise to find this un-modernized, and an even bigger surprise to find a view into the motor room. this is not the oldest elevator I've filmed but it is the only high-rise elevator I've filmed that still has a manual controller and is probably the only one in the city that's open for public use. All in all an awesome elevator.

  • An awesome elevator and video. Thanks for posting this!

  • Nice! I've always wondered what the elevator in this was like! =)

  • Nice, i love that old floor dial, you dont see that all to often nowadays, it would suck if that got modernized

  • No way, older Otis elevators are the safest thing you can find, way better than modern elevators.
