@MrJazzeman 5. 75% of the Hebrew Scriptures is poetry. All of Psalms and Proverbs are Hebrew poetry. Even the book of Genesis is full of Poetry. There are several reasons the Hebrews used poetry and songs namely they are easier to memorize than straight texts, Parallel poetry (as in Genesis 1) emphasizes the supreme importance, of the creation story. Sing praises to YHWH the Psalmist exclaims! Joy and Hope in a bright future are found in the Hebraic poetic parallelism that u deem unimportant!
@MrJazzeman 4. Professor George Howard goes on to say: "When the Hebrew form for the divine name was eliminated in favor of Greek substitutes in the Septuagint, it was eliminated also from the New Testament quotations of the Septuagint. Before long the divine name [YHWH] was lost to the Gentile church except insofar as it was reflected in the contracted surrogates or remembered by scholars."
@MrJazzeman 3. Professor George Howard, of the University of Georgia, U.S.A., made this comment: "When the Septuagint which the New Testament church used and quoted contained the Hebrew form of the divine name, the New Testament writers no doubt included the Tetragrammaton in their quotations." (Biblical Archaeology Review, March 1978, page 14. cont...
@MrJazzeman 2. In a number of passages we read of an angel who is superior to the six angels forming God's inner council, and who is regularly described as 'most venerable', 'holy', and 'glorious'. This angel is given the name of Michael, and the conclusion is difficult to escape that Hermas saw in him the Son of God and equated him with the archangel Michael ." (J.N.D. Kelly, Early Christian Doctrines, 95). cont...
@MrJazzeman 1. "Not only did several of the references to angels in the Shepherd of Hermas Similitudes 8.3.3 evidently mean the preexistent Christ, but Christ was also identified with the archangel Michael, 'who has the power over this people and is their captain. For this is he that puts the law into the hearts of believers'" (Jaroslav Pelikan, The Christian Tradition, 1:183) cont...
@Szygyify True, but when considering the contemporary landscape of issues troubling believers; why should one focus on subjects like Hebraic poetic parallelism, instead of matters like biblical inerrancy, like the origins of the Michael Enigma or the New World Bible Translation Committees errors in the tetragrammaton "Jehovah" (YHWH) which was so inaccurately placed in the NT? What compromise was made to make this new sudden change in the latest edition?
@MrJazzeman If you're not familiar with Biblical parallelism then you should start with Ron Rhodes' book ISBN 978-0-7369-2451-1 pgs 65-68. Then use the same methodology and turn it on its head like a "heretic" JW would and voila! Jesus/Μιχαὴλ parallels.
@MrJazzeman Now we might think we should simply declare A. Jesus is Michael [the set of propositions (1) and (2)] implicitly consistent on the principle that a proposition (or set) is to be presumed consistent or possible until proven otherwise. B. Jesus cannot be Michael because x y z. Ex. Jn 1:1 Hebrews 1:13 Philippians 2:5-11 Colossians 1:15-17. That is why tota Scriptura must be considered first. Before we can determine that A is absolutely impossible.
@MrJazzeman Biblical parallelism! A tried and tested methodology. Here's how u do it, you read passages you notice attributes and functions of persons spoken of, you assess similarities/discrepancies you consider the whole of Scripture and then you state a case. Ex. If the λόγος is eternally generated and is יְהֹוָה then he can’t be, but if you view Μιχαὴλ who like the λόγος is ἔκτισέν μονογενής and πρωτότοκος in Jewish tradition then it falls within the realm of possibility.
