Recorded on 24 August 2010 in Plum Village, France, during the Annual Young People's 'Wake Up' Retreat. Zen Master Thich Nhat Han, born 1926 in Vietnam, answers the question: "Based on your life experience, what is the core message you would like to share with the next generation?" and teaches about the three most basic needs: love, peace, and understanding that are needed for generating a collective awakening that is required in our troubled times.
As Thich Nhat Hanh does not give private interviews, the question was asked during this public talk of his. Sound and filming credits go to the Plum Village Community who provided the Feather Project with a full length recording of the talk from which these excerpts are taken.

The Feather Project is a collaborative effort launched by award-winning humanitarian and spiritual leader Rabbi Awraham Soetendorp and his Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values to build dialogue and collaboration between the generations for survival on Earth. The Project involves capturing on video the core messages of moral and spiritual leaders of our time, and combining them with the visions and dreams of young people, as well as with best practiced action projects to move from inspiration to action.
