Floating in the Blue Clouds

The hulusi originally came from the Dai-zu or Dai (Thai) minority of southern China.
The hulusi is a single pipe free-reed instrument found in Yunnan, China that is related to the Chinese bawu, the Thai pi joom, and numerous other instruments like the dja mblai found through Vietnam and Laos. The hulusi is made of one to four bamboo pipes that have a small brass or silver reed inserted flush with the side of the pipe, and then surrounded by a gourd or brass (on modern instruments) wind chamber.

Thanks for share your performance, I want to know if you some information like some link or any book, or any kind of blue print or somentig about the construction of the hulusi cause I want to make one by myself, and I need learn how the mouthpiece work and the key of the traditional hulusi in the diferents holes.

I have two books on how to play the hulusi, but I don't have any book about the construction of it. Sorry. I can only recommend searching the Internet. Good luck.

Just got one (together with a bawu) and started paying around with it a bit.
