do you have any form of tabs for this?
-
the guitar sounds freaking amazing
-
hi guys ,
I like the sound , I think it is also due to porcelain slide you use, don't you? very pro clip, all is almost perfect, the only thing, you missed is a smile on your faces !

Did you have to route your guitar to install the pickup?
-
@wehappyfewmusic no mods,, and my action is really as Low as I can get it,
the audio is not as good as it sounds live,,it really sounds great,,also I use a tube screamer at times with it,,, I tried a guitar set up with a Hot Plate last week it was ok,
but still like the Gold Foil.. I didnt do anything but glue it on the top, its fits under the strings and I can fret around the 14th fret,,,

@KINGSLIDEGUITAR Thanks, is that what your using on your video 'SouthSide Lenny ,Travling Playing Blues in Ohio' sounds nice if so. Did you have to do any mods to stop it being to thick to fit under the strings?

I also took a VoL pot and made a wheel and attached it ,and then made a mount and glued it inside the top of the guitar so the wheel is peeking out the F hole,,
the tone with the D-armond Gold Foil is way better ,,straight in a amp,,or even thru a tube screamer,,,its been making me a good living! ,,traveling and playing at outdoor festivals,,, Cheers!

@wehappyfewmusic yes I did and got rid of the Lace,, I even had a chance to reconsider and retried it,,but its not nearly as good as a gold fold de-armond,,
Its way better sounding,,,better tone,,no micro-phonics ,,its the pickup Rye Cooder used on cross roads,,, the Lace is a compressed sound and dull....
I just glued the DE- armond on the top up against the end of the finger board,
and ran the wire in the tiny hole next to the F hole,, no cutting,, ran it out the coverplate near tail piece

@KINGSLIDEGUITAR Did you find a better pickup for your dobro/reso then - trying to decide what sort to buy at the mo??

The lace sensor is cool. But I play a Houndog as well, and it's one of my favorites for live acoustic gigs. I find the pick-up installed works wonderfully with a good tube pre-amp and to go straight into the PA. -A totally accurate reproduction of the guitar's sound. The lace is cool- but gives a more 'distorted' tone- not a real 'replica' of the guitar's tone.
Amigo this is great, What tuning is this? your guitar has a volume control? Saludos desde Argentina!

Hey isn't this a Gibson Hound Dog?
It features a pick up originaly you did you put it there?

I placed the pick up. It is a Lace slim magnetic humbucking pickup, made for resonator guitars. The recording uses a combination of the acoustic sound and the Hounddog played with an electric amp.
