  • Correction at myself.. Kyoto levels have NOW actually exceeded Tokyo levels. Theory's for this are that either the typhoon season spread the radiation, or the very large nuclear plant is using Fukushima as a mask for releasing steam from their own troubled plant. Much like the US used Chernobyl as an excuse to release huge amounts of radiation as a result of their dirty star wars tests. Read up on that one my friends.

  • @mdhcf960A Hogwash. There was steam released just a few weeks ago, and that's just one that was big enough that TEPCO felt the need to report it. This BS is far from over, and the levels in the Tokyo level continue to rise and spread. I recently visited Kyoto, and the levels there have not actually exceeded the levels in Tokyo. The levels in the Fukushima area are still beyond what any human should have to endure. TEPCO is a crooked crooked, evil corporation, and the IAEA is too.

How do you cool with a circulated coolant system, when at least two of the pressure vessels are cracked? Even Tepco has admitted this to the regulatory agencies. The amount of radiation will be dropping, because of the tents, but even they are a stopgap solution.

  • @skax

The problems with nuclear power are not technical, they are political. Even with the Fukashima plant, it was a political decision to build a facility which was not designed for the the earthquakes typical of Japan. If the Japanese authorities of the time had bit the bullet and insisted on a facility with heavier construction, none of this would happened. It was a known issue even before construction -- some people from GE even resigned in protest rather than participate in building it.

  • All the reactor cores in Fukusima daiichi plant and the spent fuel pools of Unit2, Unit 3 and Unit 4 are now efficiently cooled by coolant circulated systems. The system for Unit 1 spent fuel pool is still under construction.

But they achieved to reduce the rate of radio activity leakage to about 1 billion Bq/hr which is much less than the relasing rate in Aplil (about 100 trillion Bq/day).

We will reduce the ratio to almost zero in about another 3 or 6 months.

  • @DeutscherKaiser123 You ., in Germany, or me in Spain ...could be the next . We have problems here in Spain with some nuclear power plants and with the nuclear waste People dont care cause it is,t shown on tv, so it almost doesn´t exist. You have a light in your home, no matter how. . You are a little bit lucky, your country seems to try the good way . My country will keep on with nuclear plans , even they are sooooo problematic.
