Wine Riff Insider - ZAP Zinfandel Tasting Event

http://www.wineriff.com/insider - The red Zinfandel wines were flowing when The Wine Riff visited the ZAP 2011 Grand Tasting event. Over 350 wines were poured and over 8,000 attendees had the chance to taste Zinfandel to their heart's content.

The event saw wineries from the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma, Lodi, Mendocino County, and from all over the state. Some of the highlights included Zinfandel from such producers as Carlisle Vineyards, Gamba Vineyards and Winery, Valdez Vineyards, Saddleback Cellars, Ravenswood, Mauritson, and hundreds more.

We had a chance to visit with such wine country luminaries as Mike and Kendal Officer of Carlisle, Gus and Paulette Gamba, Ulises Valdez, Clay Mauritson, Nils Venge of Saddleback, and many others.
