  • if anything your hips should start your swing just slightly before the hands begin to go back. if the hands go back first the club face is harder to get back to square, resulting in an open face. this is of course generally speaking and not the case for all golfers.

  • if 90 percent of golfers should be doing this what should the other 10 percent be doing :)

  • That is simply not true!

In any one-plane swing there HAS to be a roll of the forearms. If not it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the flatter shape of a one plane swing.

You guys are just a type of Leadbetter instructors. Which in the golf world today is VERY limited!

  • If you mean hand position in your setup, in relation to your body, no the hands/club will not open up at all. the hands will not "roll over" during the back swing. watch a few tour players swings and focus only on their shoulders and arms. the arms only move along the vertical axis and the hands stay still. you will never feel like your HANDS are at your side during the swing. This is the same motion as a slap shot in hockey.

  • so does the club face open at all at any time during the take-away and/or full back swing???

  • @bigboycat1

    cool story bro

  • Well dog my cats as we country boys say over here!

  • Well there you go. i'm impressed anyway...

  • 90% of golfers benefit from a closer face at halfway back in backswing. Have the face atleast the same angle as your leaning spine, or perhaps even a little more

  • I know I should do this..but, for some reason I don't!
