Ive heard people say they pop up overnight but i think that they will start out tiny and grow until they dry out or are picked,eaten,etc.. I have found tiny,,,i mean tiny,like barely big enough to see that are attached to bigger ones. I found a huge one growing under the shade of a log sideways along the ground,and it was fresh,i think it had been there for atleast a week or two and never dried out and kept growing. last year was a good year..i found 100 in a 20 ft circle and a 1/2 pounder

Also in Pa. (Hershey area) Is there any other mushroom that resembles a morel that I could confuse and accidentally eat that would be bad ?
