I've got an AT&T sim card that I pick up from the store. How can I activate it as an iPad sim and then put it in my iPhone 4 to just use the iPad data plan? I'm not interested in using voice, I'll use VOIP apps.

@cammyjee to be honest I doubt it. I mean, theoretically you can use it for wifi only services> maybe that is voip, i am not sure what voip is. if its like skype then ya, theoretically you should be able too. However like danygenio31 said, i recently just got a at&t message saying some wierd message and i was no longer able to use my iphone sim in my ipad.

Can I get in "trouble" with AT&T for doing this?

@LetsKeepItSimple4 its 100% free i have an unlimited plan on my my iphone n then can give internet not only to the ipad but to anyother divice at the same time, all keeping my sim card in my phone. pretty cool trick though if u dont want to jailbreak your phone but i personally think its easier to just unlock your phone takes bout the same time. thinking about getting an apple tv after watching your unlocking vids there pretty cool should i do it ? haha
Have you got an AT&T message saying that a data plan is required for your iPad when you used your iPhone simcard on your iPad?

Is there a way to get around what AT&T is doing about this

@squaid1980 as of right now no. Maybe when a jailbreak comes out for the iPad 2 there will be a way to hide it.

I have heard AT&T is cracking down on this have you got any feedback from them?

@squaid1980 Personally I have not yet heard anything. Granted, I barely use it with 3G, however I did use it for practically an entire week straight on vacation in hawaii (since the wifi from the hotel sucked), with not a single screw up. Since I have been back I have switched the sim back to my iPhone. Not a peep from them, but if anyone here's anything about that send me a message telling me what they said either via phone or text?
