I'm delighted that these days there's a lot of video-game-talk being done and done beautifully, passionately and entertaining, i.e. A Life Well Wasted, GWJ, Giant Bombcast, DGRadio (although not primarily about games anymore) or the fantastic GT Retrospectives.
So I thought I'd start contributing some hopefully enjoyable stories out of my own play history, for I often found listening to other people's gaming experiences pretty fascinating, sometimes even comforting and uplifting.
Note: Please excuse the hissing sibilants, I already equalized them out a little by numbing down everything above ~8khz on the voice-track, but didn't want to mumble the narration too much. Next time I'll use a better microphone and/or recording settings.
This came across to me as charming expression of your personal experience with games. I sense that it was enjoyable for you to make. The three different voices for present you, kid you, and hard-core gamer were really expressive of what parts of you the comments were coming from. As for poor skills in SML, I'm surprised there was no mention of the low-contrast blurry slow LCD of the Game Boy.

This is really sweet. A lot of the things you talk about resonates with my own experience when I got into games.
