The trains have been going along that track as far as i can remember, i used to run through that tunnel during training runs(te atatu south to piha beach).
@cavador2001 Well, you are warned not to put your arms out of the train. There are safety bars across openings of cars, and they will alert the train driver if opened. It would take a concerted effort to fall out. It's perfectly safe unless you act like a fool. There is certainly no way this could be done in the States, though. Lots of fun! No self-respecting train fan should miss this. Wife and I enjoyed this in January 2010.
