To me it sounds like basically a couple that's used to heartbreak and only being used... being in relationships where the other is cheating while saying "I want only you" etc. [And them knowing it, which is why they laughed so much.] Then trying to go along with the whole sex with no love thing, finding it too painful to be like that, so deciding to try for love again with the one they just can't let share their "taste" with someone else, aka the one they've fallen in love with. oO
