New TomTom Go 520 / 720 Sat Nav Review / Demo

We're taking a quick look at the new TomTom Go 520 Sat Nav, which comes installed with maps of the UK and Eire. The TomTom Go 720 is identical except that it comes with street-level maps of Europe as well.
Tom Tom have pulled out the stops to create a real step forward for in-car Sat Nav, with many new, impressive and useful features.

I bought a tomtom sat nav on my recent trip to the united kingdom, however , its only europe map that is on it. I live in nigeria, how do i install a west africa map on it

No problem.The sat nav satellites are due to expire in about 4 years so no tom tom problem solved use a map and save some cash.

One small thing that's important to me thats TOMTOM ignore and where GARMIN pay attention to is AUTO POWER AND MP3 player starts. When you turn off the engine which shuts the GPS power OFF and Turns the engine back ON Garmin knows to auto start the GPS and continue with the MP3 player while the TOM TOM doesn't. This can be important to prevent from manually power on the GPS everytime you start the ignition.

I use a Tom Tom XL S and couldn't be happier with it. The other fancy add ons such as music and cell phone utilities wasn't an option for us so we went for the XL S rather than spend an additional $150.00 for a feature we already had with our satellite radio and FM cell phone speakers.

The maps can be updated weekly and for free. To this date, not one problem has occurred with our unit.
