@nickwalco: What I meant is, given that Hitler was in power around this time, and the mother had "abusive and controlling qualities" I thought that this might be a subtle form of anti-Nazi or Anti-German propaganda. A lot of cartoons contain propaganda. I just thought that this might be an example of that.

@Jesusismyfriend2006 I don't see any racisim, so what if the mother was German. America isn't the only country in the world, (yes it was animated by an Americans but that dosen't mean every movie/cartoon an american make has to feature Americans only)
