Description on own-age.com:

"SOME INFO / CONTENT:

The idea making this movie came up somewhen a year ago, when I was playing some CPMA duel myself and met Nzr0 and Hal.
Movie got delayed a lot because I had a 24/7 job up until recently and simply had no time working on it.

Content couldn't be better.
I watched zillions of demos from different people but when it comes to skill and style no one beats those guys in my opinion.
Nzr0 did a crazy job timestamping like 380~ demos, so I had sort of 7-8x the demos I actually needed.

Frags are taking place on cpm3a, cpm22 and cpm24.
They had some frags on cpm1a and cpm15 aswell, but we decided not to take them in as that weren't that many and saved me repainting those maps (read further on repaints).

CONCEPT:

A content movie!
Yeah, obviously there are some edits and actually a lot of sync, but really, in my opinion it is much more rewarding to see and understand the content the way it is instead of having slowmos on every shot and flashing lights underlining each and every frag.

(Funnily most of the frags ARE synced and I DID flash up every sync, but meh, it got really flashy so I removed those : P)

Concept wise my main goal was to create an atmosphere and make someone watching it feel something. Probably the reason this movie went trough lots of beta cuts shown to beta testers.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

I think the first thing which is apparent right away are the repainted textures.
At first I repainted all maps in 1024x1024-2048x2048 textures from ground on, but you realize that everything else looks kinda bad in comparison.
So I repainted:
- simple items in higher res (stylistic decision to create a contrast to the HQ textures)
- enemy models
- weapons
- projectiles
- explosions/smoke
- squeezed medals (so they won't stretch in 2.35:1)

(Skip this part if you're not a techie; KOS corner : P)

Well I chose to use 50 FPS again, this time also to kind of have a stylized TV/Broadcast look. 50 FPS basically looks like interlaced PAL.
On real life footage you might enjoy having a 24p conversion to make it look like a feature film and not a soap opera, but in a Q3 vid broadcast IS kinda stylized.

Benefits of 50 FPS:
- no motion blur needed
- thus retained, sharp textures
- smooth movement
- stylized look

Cons:
- file size (who cares?)
- hard to encode

Aside from the actual fps, I tried to emphasize the look whenever possible, using tons of Avisynth scripts, applying pulldowns, then removing them, then applying interlace and then deinterlace again during the encode and so on.

I also created a color profile based on real shots from my DSLR and applied a Broadcast range to it, removing clipped blacks/whites in most places.

THE FILE:

1st: 1280x544, 50 FPS, x264

Other ones will be available shortly after the release:

2nd: 1920x816, 50 FPS, x264
3rd: 1280x544, 50 FPS, Xvid

As usual additional hosts and streams are very appreciated.

So this is really my last Q3 related project I was talking about before."
