  • you don't put the veggies in right away. If you cook them on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 to 10 hours they'll come out like mush. I put my veggies in just over half way through the cooking process. and i dont add cabbage period.

  • Jill likes to use baby carrots.

  • @hsbc2468 Either one is fine. It's just a differant flavor. Use your preferance.

  • Why chicken broth and not beef broth?

  • Those potatos look horrible...also, there is absolutely no difference in the taste of a baby carrot and regular carrot. I'm not so sure a cooking channel is the proper platform for these chicks.

  • I made this last week, it was so good, I just made my cabbage separate, I fried it in light olive oil & a little butter. ( Just maybe tbsp of oil & Tbsp of butter) depending on how large your cabbage is , mine was small...anyhow it was GREAT. I cooked mine on low for 10 hours & it was soooo tender...I almost ate the whole thing in one night

  • Nice recipe !!!

This my favorite kind of a recipe which I call a "No Brainer". This means few ingredients and few stept to prepare. I have a 6qt Rival digital crockpot which has put my pressure cooker and George Foreman Grill into the closet. I will use a baged shredded cabbage to simplify matters.
