I agree that heat may damage protein to a certain extent, but it doesn't mean the protein is totally useless. After all most folks heat / cook protein foods like meat, chicken, eggs, fish, etc. and they are still able to get some nutritional benefits from eating those foods.

Actually I know lots of people who cook with Whey. Have you read the Anabolic Cooking Cookbook? There are literally dozens of recipes that use whey protein in them.

i'm naturally quite lean (skinny actually) i have quite good muscle definition but am trying to gain size i want to bulk up for the basketball season i am 6 ft 4 and only 16, will taking protein shakes damage my health? Just wondered because i'm so young! thankyou!

Whey protein is made from milk, so drinking whey protein shakes is just as safe as drinking milk.

You could, but it's not needed, a spoon works fine for a small cup of coffee :-)
