Since I'm only mid-way through this mystery, I can't wait to find out if it was Frenchie, or the stone-faced so-called house-keeper (who hasn't kept house), or possibly the trod-upon 'little Chinese girl'..or WHO.

@panhead1219 It's 'Chan-Noir' = seems as though they were filmed during an eclipse of some kind, agreed. But I kind of enjoy the effect(s).
But I have noticed at times the audio isn't in sync (off by a few full seconds)..I can't tell if it's correct-able or not.

I love these Charlie Chan mysteries so much.
I especially like the way (unlike most other slueths, Charlie Chan was always respected and allowed carte blanche with his cases by the authorities. Like, there wasn't ever a time where some hothead Police Captain barks '..stay off this case, Chan..or else'..!-kind of thing.
Has anybody ever seen MRS. Chan..? I can recall seeing "Beauty of Chan family" = Daughter, and the various numbered sons, but was there an installment with Mrs. Chan?
