@davida3606 Racist??? Wdf let me guess you feel the same about all the peoms langston hughes, mayaq angelou, zora neal hurston??? Simply because they write poetry to uplift the black culture.. I hear all the time from ignorant people of ALL races how "pretty" I am for a "black" woman or how im so such n such for a black women. Seriously; this young girl recited a poem! My god are you people s o bored that you will come on this page and criticize? How about yo go write a poem about what you believe. Yeah, I have to say that.. I'm not quite sure about this- why can't the women speak for the WOMEN- does it have to involve colour? Not saying these aren't good words, but.... I just didn't realize that black women were still having such a hard time that it needed to be singled out. What about the white women? The Indian women? All the beautiful women of the world who are beaten, mistreated, raped, neglected, looked down upon- for merely being woman. WHAT IF I AM A STRONG, INDEPENDENT WOMAN?
