This clip was shown on Larry King Live on October 23, 2009 during the Suzanne Somers Cancer special. The boy had Hodgkin's Lymphoma which appears to be in remission after the chemo treatments. Note that the father says he credits BOTH the chemotherapy and the alternative treatments for his son's improvement. He said that without the alternatives his son wouldn't have done as well. That's an important point to remember if you or someone you know has cancer. You might want to incorporate alternative treatments as well.

  • I recently saw on my local news where someone asked Danny Hauser how he felt,as he was leaving the center where he received treatments. His reply was that he was glad to get out of that 'hole' and to stop putting poison in his body. I was shocked.

I see the young children in the children's hospitals that would love to stay in their 'hole' and continue getting treatment for cancer. Instead they die.

I really made me angry that this Danny kid lived because of his attitude.

  • Pat, you might have misinterpreted Danny's attitude. Chemo is not Holy water. It is poison that may be killing cancer but it kills all other healthy cells and tissues around it. People can even die from chemo. Just wanted to clarify and expand your thinking a bit.

  • Well, yes Lymphoma, Testicular and Leukemia can all be treated with chemo with an upward of 50% survival. However, chemo is useless in saving lives for other cancers. 2.1% survival rate of 5 years for all other cancers published by the Royal College of Radiologists in 2004. No one mentions that Burzynski is the first scientist in the history of medicine to cure inoperable Brain Stem Glioma. Danny's story is rather irrelevant to Dr B and Gonzalez.

  • I agree that chemo only cures certain types of cancer and does nothing for the majority of them. A few months back I wrote a blog "Chemo Kills More Than Cancer" where I stressed that exact point. I used Daniel Hauser as one of the examples. I loved Suzanne Somers on the show and the two doctors she brought with her. Planning to research them further and see what kind of cures they are working on.

  • Wanted to see this show but Comcast has removed it from my basic coverage. Can you put up the clip with Suzanne's part.

  • I just posted more clips from the show.

  • I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer about a month ago...I have another surgery and then chemo after. True I am scared of receiving chemo. You guys I see knock it, but if you were diagnosed with cancer I think then it would be a different story...

  • has anyone seen the documentary RUN FROM THE CURE, and to pat, his is 14 teen yrs. old, could you imagine being force to under go treatment that you dont agree with at all. I Know there is other treatments for cancer. chemo on the other hand is a poison, If It were me I would be bitter to.and I'm almost 50.

  • @HiHoJose

You're right HiHoJose...I hope he lives a long and happy life also...;D

  • @PatLukes

I get the anger, but cut him some slack. He's a just a kid with whacked out parents.

He's completed treatment, he's in remission, and I wish him a long and happy life.

  • "Ungrateful attitude"!!! What a load of crap. This child was forced to take poison and made extremely ill by it. He will probably develop secondary cancers within a few years. He has no reason to be grateful to the medical/judicial establishment for the barbaric treatment they inflicted on him. Every person has the right to make their own medical decisions.

  • Thanks but no thanks on clarifying my thinking, I can do that for myself. More than his ungrateful words, it was his ungrateful attitude that made me really angry. There is not a grain of sympathy and well wishes left in me for him. I will now pray for all the other children who want to live and have an uplifting and hopeful attitude. No more Danny drama, thank goodness.
