I just recently heard from an old friend that Master Soken had a student by the name Nishime, but I still do not know if this is him.
-
I watched 3 secs of this footage and knew it wasn't Shihon Nishime.

@Koryuhoka He moves a little different than Melchor, but from that time period I don't know. I sent a message to GM Kise's through his web page asking if anyone there knew, but whoever handles his web site does not ever reply, meybe they can't read English.

Could this be Melchor Tecson? I would not know so I'm just suggesting names. Whoever he is, his kata is great.
-
@OkinawaShorinryu sorry. He just told me he thought it was a different video we were talking about. He said it's "some guy in Okinawa". Mystery solved. lol
-
@MaryBethNishime because I knew and studied under Master Soken and Kise.

@MaryBethNishime I knew Master Soken

@MaryBethNishime I knew Master Soken is why :)

@OkinawaShorinryu what makes you think it's not Soken?
Applications become apparent when you train in this way. He didn't need to add any flips or flying kicks, yet you could tell he had athleticism, coordination, great balance and could probably kick your ass if need be. A very good combination of biomechanics, physics and reflexive action. Very relaxed power. The gendai karate guys need to take note. This is real karate. Superb!!!

The best performance of Kusanku I've seen on the net. He is a Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Karate Jutsu stylist. This is a look back at the old style way of performing kata. Exactly the way my sensei taught kata. Not too much hip yet not leg or shoulder locked. Execution is smooth, crisp, quick and forceful.
