To Ben, explain to me why you would insist on a government sponsored program, rather than a private plan that was regulated by the government. When a company screws up or is corrupt, people get fired, go to jail and are forced to repay. When the government screws up, at best someone doesn't get re-elected or gets pardoned by their party support, and it gets chalked up as "poor budget planning".
