I think the reason for that is the State now has paid voluntary mercenaries. I was at my son's HS graduation last night and they introduced all of the grads who were joining the military to a standing ovation. I wanted to puke. Bring back the draft. Put the chickenhawk's children and grandchildren at risk and these insane wars would start to end in short order. Of course that will never happen, but if it did, you would see some "waking".
