I'm an African American mother of a 5 y.o. & I can't braid/plait AT ALL! lol However you have definitely inspirired me to quit paying people to do my daughter's hair & learn. Those little girls are blessed to have you! Keep up the great work!

You make it look so easy. I am Black and I can braid a little and I have a 2 yo daughter and I was searching videos and came across yours and subbed right away!
I cannot cornrow...I love this alternative...or at least until I can get some more practice and get them looking neat. Thanks for sharing your talents. :-)

This is really cute! I love the style with the little flower beads. I'll try this on my younger niece's hair. Never heard of this type of braid before!

dang girl you are really talented .......no offense but your the only white person i have EVER seen not afraid to do a black persons head..i have girls in my cosmetology class that wont even try to learn...and btw im going to try this on my neice so thanks for the tip and seriously you are good at what you do :)

Hi Katelynylyn, thanks for showing how to do box braids and piggy back braids. With box braids, does it matter if you braid under or overhand? Does one give a better finished look?

@DrDawnMarie - I think either way is fine. Over hand will have them laying down flat really nicely, under hand might make them pop up from the scalp a bit (more so with shorter hair). Try them both and see what you prefer.
