US firefighters shot dead in 'ambush'

A convicted felon has shot dead two firefighters and wounded two others after luring them to a blaze that police said he had apparently set as a trap in a small town in New York state, officials said. The 62-year-old shooter - who was found guilty of manslaughter and was jailed for 17 years for his grandmother's death in 1980 - then fatally shot himself in the head, said police in Webster, on the shores of Lake Ontario. Eh. Or people can make their own guns (if they bother). Or steal them. Or go into the black market. It's not always legal. If someone REALLY wants to acquire something illegally, they can do it if they know the right places and/or the right people. You make it sound so black and white when there is a complete gray area. If it were not "rocket science" then there wouldn't be such a huge deal about gun control. There wouldn't be so many opposing opinions on the matter.

The assault weapon ban was STILL in effect and it still happened, all you are doing is admitting the gun ban DIDN'T work. Regardless of how they got them, it proves more regulation didn't stop it.

Did you know there was evidence of SSRI use in the Columbine shooting? Prom date? Again, you've proved that people who want to get guns will. People that want to kill will. The best hope those people had was (if there was one) that armed guard. To bad he wasn't a little more accurate.

and like I said, all guns are legal at the factory where they are made. There is no such thing as "illegal from the start". Unless you're talking about people building their own from scratch or manufacturers selling out the back door which - seriously, who does that? - is not the issue at hand.
