A king without a sword
A land without a king
A truth without a voice
One song left to sing
One song to sing
...
A wise man told me there's something you should know
The way you judge a man is to look into his soul
And you'll soon see everything

A voice from the past cried give peace a chance
He paid our price now he's free at last
And imagine, we called him a dreamer

How many times must good men die
How many tears will the children cry
'Till we suffer no more sadness
Stop the madness
Oh, stop the madness

If ashes are ashes and dust is dust
At our journey's end, then return we must
To the sands of the shore

White doves in flight
Peace to all
But tell me why the peacemakers fall
Must we bury anymore

The hush of the crowd as the horse rode by
A black lace veil hid the tears from her eyes
And we all wept in silence

How many times must good men die
How many times will the children cry
'Till we suffer no more sadness
Oh, stop the madness
Oh, stop all the madness

  • @franknette Hey you idiot. this song is about JFK, MLK JR and John Lennon. While trying to shove your political garbage down our throats you missed the point completely!

While I love our soldiers and what they do, peacemakers in this instance does not mean soldiers.

  • Well, pajasper, peacekeeping mission are politically correct way to say war. Language affects the way people think about things. If you call it a peacekeeping mission rather than 'putting down the rebels,' people are apt to look at it more positively. U.S. taxpayers fund our forces in operations throughout the world...Persian Gulf, U.S. Navy deployed there since the 40's, Korea, U.S. forces there since the 50's, Sinai U.S. forces there since 79, Italy, Germany, Kosovo, Japan, etc.& wars too.

  • As soon as you open your eyes and minds, as soon as you stop believing manipulated media and propaganda you'll recognize your real enemy. US military is not fighting for freedom of the world, it is destroying it... they're fighting for wealth and prosperity of high class citizens of Israel and the USA, you're not high class, you're little people who will end up in the dustbin of history!

  • You really are brainwashed nation, I feel sorry for you. Ignorance, general stupidity, hate, bigotry, greed, corruption, fear and blindness are true marks of your people that cannot be found within any country, nation or society in this world. American government which is directly ruled by masonic zionistic jewish politicians, bankers and enterpreuners is your only enemy, not some muslim savages from the hills...

  • I dont care if your gay, black, mexican, russian, vegan, vegetarian, PURPLE, if you are willing to die to keep freedom for the rest of us, god damn it im with ya till the end!!!

  • FUCK POLITICALLY CORRECTNESS. WHAT CAN WE SELL THE STUPID AMERICANS NOW? I AM, AND WILL ALWAYS BE AN AMERICAN. TRUE PATRIOTS DEFEND THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES. CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS, REGARDLESS THE GOVERNMENTS OBJECTIVE. DID LIBERIA, SOMALIA, BOSNIA AND THEN SOME. IT SICKENS ME I GAVE MY INNOCENCE TO A LIE. WAKE UP AMERICA. JACKAL

  • Fall of the corporate dictatorship and theocracy should be the title of this video

  • @pajasper I just wanted to point out that judgment is the american way of spelling the word. Judgement is still the correct spelling in Great Britain and so on. That's my not so very needed contribution to your discussion. Cheers!

  • Great song, but is this slideshow supposed to be ironic? Most of it completely clashes with the song's meaning.

  • at 4:35 i have the exact same gibson les paul

  • @anothercarpenter Ever hear of Costa Rica? They have no military, Nor does Bermuda. As for me being a willful victim, you assumptive prick, you can @#$% off. No victimization here. Go do some research before you post. You will then know the true meaning of this song. I appreciate our military. But this song is NOT about troops. Troops carry swords. In this song, the King (MLK reference) has none. The last verse refers to JFK, especially the scene of Jackie at the funeral parade.

  • Wrong again, on two accounts. Firstly the song was released in 1983, Lennon was killed in 1980. And there is no 'e' in judgment.

A voice from the past cried, Give peace a chance!

He paid our price now hes free at last; And imagine -

    We called him a dreamer.

That's a direct reference to the song Imagine by the Beatles and speech by "I have a dream" by King.

Listen son, don't tangle with someone who is obviously way more educated than you. You are making a fool of yourself..
