Sand claims that today's Palestinians are the descendants of the original Canaanites who resided in the Holy Land, long before the Jews. The forefathers of most Jews converted to Judaism in different parts of the world, the largest group being the Khazars where a whole country converted around the year 800 on order of their king. Consequently, only 5-8% of Jews are Semites, the others are not, whereas 95% of Palestinians are Semites. "Jews" have no blood-link to the Israelites of the Bible.

They would have killed Sand and destroyed his manuscripts if they'd known how successful he would be. Killing him now would only increase his books popularity, so all they can do is try to slander him, disrupt, run disinfo, and try to have him ignored or dismissed as "unqualified".
