Hurricane Ike Threatens Fuel Prices

With the storm threatening the Texas coast, which is home to refineries and offshore rigs that account for over one fifth of the nations refining capacity; companies will be forced to shut down operations. Exxon Mobil, Valero Energy, and Marathon Oil all will have to suspend production as the Hurricane is set to tear through the Texas gold coast. Meanwhile, gas prices are expected to rise nearly 50 cents. As panic buying will set prices between $4 and $5 dollars for those worried about a supply shortage. Gas prices had dropped recently, as some relief was short lived at the pumps. But with Ike threatening lives of those in the Gulf coast, the rest of us looking to fill up our tanks, will have to wait out the storm.

gas prices in lake lure NC hit 4.75 gallon in hendersonville NC 4.65 =eneyville NC 4.45 ashville NC gas is 4.55 gallon in most of these towns gas was 3.52 yestreday morning.. texa city is under water. all refineries are shut down for a minimium of 3 days. gas is expected to reach 5.50-6.50 in 2-3 days...
