Finally a video that understands! I got diagnosed in 2009 after 6 years of doctors fobbing me off with stupid ideas! It's not a nice thing to suffer but to know others understand gives me some comfort xx

Thank you for the video! I became ill with H.S. when I was 15 yrs. old. I was so sick with systemic infection that I almost died. Along with the 'hygiene' issue, I've been told that women do not sweat under their breasts and I would need have them removed (didn't do it), it's just acne and it'll get better after puberty is finish (never had a pimple). I've had 18 surgeries cuz of it and take imunnosuppresants daily. Everything was going extremely well, but now it's coming back and I'm scared.

I have it and I'm very upset about it. It does seem to get better for me and the scars, although not visible in clothing, are unbearable. I just had a shot of cortisone today, but I'm not very optimistic. Some days I just cry. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

I love you for making this video. I've had HS since I was 7 years old, so I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to cause it. I'm now 22 and still have it. I used to think it was related to my acne and that I would eventually grow out of it because my acne went away when I turned 20, but I'm now 22 and I still have HS!

i agree i picked smoking heavier after my hs diagnosis in 2004

@roodbezeke i'm not a smoker, nor tried smoking even once and yet i have it :( not the severe type though.. just a few bumps here and there :(

I love your video. It made me feel normal. As far as the smoking,,, maybe the smoking came after the h.s. and is the ONLY thing that makes it SOMEWHAT BEARABLE. Just sayin.....:)

awesome video, this is so true...

I thought the music fit it perfectly lol.
there is some evidence that smoking MIGHT influence HS in a bad way.
recently an article was published in the Journal of American Academy Dermatology by Simonart stating that 2 patients with longlasting HS were able to become disease-free 3 months after quiting smoking...maybe not a proof, but makes one think?

@roodbezeke - The skin has to cope with any toxins that the liver cannot cope with - tobacco contains a lot of toxic chemicals - it is logical to assume that tobacco damages the skin and the defenses of the immune system.
