Arrow Crab
Stenorhynchus seticornis
The Arrow Crab, /Stenorhynchus seticornis /has extremely long thin leg sand small thin claws. This Spider like crab is a scavenger and will eat excess foods around the aquarium.

The arrow crab is a valuable addition to some aquarists as it eats bristle worms which some reefers find problematic. The arrow crab is relatively,, reef safe", as mentioned it will prey on bristle worms, and has been known to attack other crustaceans like the coral banded shrimp.

  • my parents are going through the process of getting the tank finished, and we saw these worms when we got live rock. now from what I understand bristle worms, can be pesty, but arent much of a problem, but fire worms are bad. the worms we have look exacly like that one, some are pretty small, but a few are that size, is that a regular bristle worm, or a fireworm.

  • @420simpson Hi. This one is regular bristle worm. They are good addition to your tank. Arrow crab will just help to balance their numbers because too many of them is a problem. Fire worms look similar so its good to check regularly and get rid of them. Arrow crab will help too;-) Thanks for watching.

  • Will the arrow crab harass and kill your brittle star?

    - Not likely unless it's very hungry!

Arrow crabs are predators on crustaceans and molluscs.

I have a flame hawkfish that took care of my bristle worm problem as well as all the fire worms.
