  • Congrats! You look great! I was told about 10 years ago I needed this surgery but put it off. At age 25 I'm finally ready to start the process =) My braces go on soon and my surgery will take place 15-17months later. I think my doc is going to shorten my lower jaw instead of extending the upper like yours; but maybe both! I'm very excited now having seen so many people on here that have had it done. You look so happy! Enjoy your new smile & bite!

  • Yes I was first taken to Hospital when I was 12 after the dentist sent me. My mother would not allow it. She was funny then you know, the unknown and all that ! I am near to the end of my tooth/jaw journey, I am so pleased I cannot tell you. After 30 years I waited, it was worth it. And so, it will be for you too. Good Luck.

    Best Wishes

    Karen

  • You don't look like Miss Piggy :)

It's amazing what they can do! Good ol' NHS :)

  • Thank you for your kind words.

    Swelling is still going down.

    Best Wishes

  • You are such a nice lady. Very courageous indeed. I have an over and open bite and I am into 10months of my braces. My operation will be similar to what you have, la forte I and i am ready for my operation soon. I am nervous and scare, just like how you used to feel. I find it very encouraging to see your video online. Hope that you continue to post more videos, almost two years post op from 2009. Take care :D

  • Congratulations.

Thank you for sharing parts of your journey with us.

I am hoping this will give me the strength to share some of my own pre and post surgery.
