  • Robin,

Certainly the stimp can be different in different parts of the day. It's also the case that the stimp on the practice green can be different than the green on the course. In my experience, the stimp rarely changes but it has from early morning to afternoon.

  • @mikepedersengolftips Yes, there can be many things that influence the read. The rate the ball is traveling is a big one.

  • hi john,

what's your experience about the stimp changes during the day.i assume the early mowing would counterbalance the decrease of the stimp due to moisture, and the growth of the grass would counterbalance the increase of the stimp in the afternoon... but really, with an early morning start, are going to face a 9 in the first nine and maybe a 10 on the closing holes ?or can you trust the same stimp all day long ? thanks robin

  • Wow, a lot goes into putting correctly eh? Interesting.
