@vilepium hey "vilepium" I guess U really havent got well acquainted with all these features/functions of web-hosting, so 1st of all just try reading good books, cause your method of collecting Knowledge "by asking here and there" may be seeming a good shortcut but may not be truly beneficial in the long run.

Thx. Good vid.
Alex is there any way once you've set up a joomla site to transfer it to another using FTP? I've been making a site on a different domain but didn't wantt to publish it until it was far enough along. Now I'm ready but it doens't seem to transfer

using ftp will transfer the files, but not the db. also, the file configuration.php would have to be altered as well.
use a joomla module like Akeeba Backup to do it properly. that's what i use.

joomla does NOT accept rars, so the rar is either a container that contains other compressed archives, one being the template, OR you are using a pirated template that someone has packaged as a rar when they SHOULD have packaged it as a zip, in which case simply unrar it and then zip it yourself. You can NOT simply ftp up templates, they must be installed proper through joomla (unless you know how to edit the db directly).
*there should be a templateDetails . xml file in the root of the archive

just one thiing, at RocketTheme tutorials there is a video in which it explains how to install the rocketluncher and in that proccess he does not use the joomla extention instalation, even know u said it must be installed using joomla otherwise the database does not work?

ahhhhh, right, rocketlauncher is like joomla plus all the rockettheme addons all packaged together and so it all gets installed when you install joomla.
