Music When the Lights Go Out is a Libertines track, that is credited to Peter Doherty and Carl Barat, and describes someone trying to end a relationship. It is one of Doherty's earliest written songs (along with Albion), and the only track Doherty and Barat apparently fought over during the second album sessions, because they wanted to record it differently.

Music When the Lights Go Out is mentioned in Jackie Doherty's book, Pete Doherty My Prodigal Son, and was played live on Newsnight by Doherty, in 2005.

  • Makes me cry. Beautiful, reminds me of drunken nights, singing with my best mate, walking round random parks, getting lost in london, crazy nights, then crashing back into bed at 10am. <3

  • @djpj22 sounds healthy

  • @bloup28 Cant begin to imagine, all the same "keep your head up! " yeh?

  • @djpj22 The song made me cry too, and so did your comment, because thats exactly the same for me, except that my mate has been killed by a mad driver as we were crossing the sreet, drunk, near 2am. Since that day, I no longer hear the music.
