I love to play this tune! It has such a striking and haunting feeling to it. Also it rare to find a mandolin tune in G minor, which makes it extra fun to play. It's quite a work out for my left hand though, after a couple of rounds with this one I'm worn out! (probably due to poor technique.)

January Nightmare is written by a fine mandolin picker, David Long. It can be found on the cd 'Stomp' which he released together with Mike Compton, another fine, fine mandolin player. If you haven't heard the cd I urge you to buy it! My version of the tune os just totally ripped from the cd, but with a backing guitar.

  • Good job. You've got David's tune and touch down.

  • Thanks Jim, I appreciate that! And thanks for the Compton instruction video you sent me, I guess about a year ago. That one helped me a lot.
