I shot it at 24 frames per second, and alternated between shooting each drawing for 1, 2, or 3 frames. All the fast action (Otto throwing knives) was all shot on one's (1 frame per drawing, or 24 drawings a second). For the opening walk of Otto, I timed it on 1's, 2's and 3's. The animation took 3,100 drawings.
