@fishreaper Well put, no argument here. ..... tatonka is awsome, I prefer moose to any beef, Imo... but again its what-ever your used to. Ak is soooooooooooo BIG, people dont realize, our weather differ's from one end to the other, but you are very right........ its NO-place to mess around, you can die very fast here. But if you know what your doing it is a land of plenty. .... I have a problem with Texans bragging about that tiny state, nothing personal.

@mrsmelzbad Keep in mind that I referred to only the deer. (i don't remember what i was thinking at the time seeing how it was over a year ago.) Although i don't know about a bull moose tasting better, I find that cow/doe taste a little less gamey and I personally like Bison Burgers over other game, but that's just me. Either way I do comprehend your point, as far as you and I are concerned, the only flaw with Alaska is the often bitter cold, and if you get lost you might not be found for a time

@fishreaper nothing sucks about alaska hunting, biggest bears (blacks / browns/ polar/ glacier...... best tasting deer on the planet, mnt goats, only white sheep in the world, caribou (some units no-limit)....... and one bull moose equals 10 texas deer. And tastes 100x better....... so many ducks & geese, you will run outa ammo .. not to mention a huge variety... then theres several types of grouse, hares, wolf, wolverine, elk, bison, musk ox, etc, etc.

yea it dose i would like to be able to take 2 a year here in newbrunswick are deer populition could support that.

that must suck.... here where i live in Texas we get 6 whitetail tags 2 mule and 4 Rio turkey. the counties themselves have limits but you can always go to different counties to fill out your tags.

I live on Vancouver Island and our Coast Columbian Blacktails look similar. Those are some beautiful lookin deer. Great success, and an awesome walk back. ***** Kule to see Sitka and your Sitka Deer.

Usually 6, they are small compared to mule or whitetails.
