@Cheenjoo, thank you very much for helping clear that up! :)

@504Diva, thank you!~

@Kari166 Also afraid to be alone with the dead body of the man she let die. You see her glance at his bedroom door; Zan saw that and knew her strong cold blooded mother was finally scared to death. And leaves her alone in the house with her mess. It wasn't worth it.

OMG, never seen this Bette Davis before, her performance was sooo freakin good. Loved this!!!

@FLE22P Joan Fontaine won for Suspicion... Definitely think Bette's is the better performance.

@Kari166 Yes. Afraid she will be alone. Afraid she lost control of Zan & all the plans to "get you the things I always wanted" were for nothing. Afraid b/c When Zan says "there is nothing to talk about", Virginia knows she means it. And @7:50, at the top of the stairs, there is some suggestion that alone, in that silence, she will have to face the consequences of treacherous actions. Until then, I think she thought of killing her husband as only a means to an end. Thanks 4 asking, lov BD!

@504Diva, there's one line that confuses me.
"Why, Mama? ...Are you afraid?"
What is she suggesting that Regina is afraid of? Being alone?

@MrTracythomas1 I didn't forget --- what you mention is actually my favorite quote from the whole movie:"There are people who eat earth and eat all the people on it like in the Bible with the locusts. And other people who stand around and watch them eat."
"we'll own this country one day" And so they do NOW....game over.
