Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out the 1990's hair band guitar metal and gigantic transforming robots to review Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari Arm for the Sega CD. The Sega CD was a short lived, unique, console video game system that worked with the Sega Genesis (Megadrive Mega Drive) 16 bit wonder machine. You can see the Classic Game Room review of the Sega Genesis with S-video here on YouTube. Android Assault is a SHMUP horizontally scrolling shooter where you pilot a Robotech, Transformer, Go Bot-like mecha, mechwarrior fighter thingy against wave after wave of alien bad guys. It's like Guitar Hero with guns... or like Thunder Force III or Gradius mixed with Headbanger's Ball... for all the headbangers out there who remember!!! Late on Saturday night, no date, Sega Genesis and Whitesnake on your MTV... ahh the memories.

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. XBLA.

  • 12:40 Battletoads title screen anyone?

  • Does anyone know the name of the mech FIGHTER for sega cd? I cant remember much, I believe you could select different weapons and you found on the surface of different planets or their satellites("moons").

  • btw Mark, the very first robot cartoon was Tetsujin-28 (known in the US as Gigantor) released in 1956. Tranzor Z (aka Mazinger Z) was released in 1972.

As for the first transformable robots, it depends which kind. The first transforming one, in the form of combination, i believe is Getter Robo from 1974. The first transforming robots in the form of actual transforming would be Super Dimension Fortress Macross (i.e. Robotech Part 1) in 1982.

  • @3DSStrider Get the game and put the disc in your cd player. It'll play the music from the game disc. That's how i have mine anyway :)

  • This soundtrack MUST be audiosurfed!

  • sega cd's openingmusic sounds like super metroid ;D

  • Mark, if you love side-scrolling SHMUPS...please review Sturmwind when it comes out this year (2012) for the Dreamcast!

It looks beautiful, and it's coming out on a system that has been declared dead for eleven years now. That little-white-box-of-awesome will never die...
