Anna Raetsen and Marieken Oostrom designed an interactive music player. The player mirrors the stress or relaxation of the user. In the stress mode the 4 speakers (left, right, woofer and tweeter) can be adjusted with minimal movements. The further a speaker is pulled from the base, the louder its volume is. In a more relaxed environment the player is far less sensitive, and the speakers will have to be removed from the base and placed far from it to generate a louder volume, the distance from the base is a parameter for the volume in this case. The player is like a gettoblaster, suitable to create surround sound in every place, from a party on the beach to your desk.
The next track functionality is also more sensitive in stress mode, requiring almost no touch compared to a longer touch with a larger part of the hand in relaxed mode.
The player has build in sensors and leds to make it function in combination with a phidget interface kit which is connected to a PC with USB
