Mythbusters learning rc heli flying ,destroy brand new heli ,before maiden flight.

wow i never realised that rc heli flying is that hard : D

these people do a fun but real bad job ,,after not being able to fly a fixed pitch heli ,,they build a 600 nitro ,with 5 blade titan multihead
and destroy it before trying to have a go at it

also when entering the rc shop ,,they buy 1 of everything
and its a store with many scalesize helis,,

wish i could shop like that,and take home all i liked ;-)

probably true ,,no problems here though with my rc heli fleet : )

i think for gamers its easier to control rc helis these days,and gyros and 3g stuff

old pilots had to do everything themselve without stabi help,,took them 10 year to learn fly heli.

we can learn in 1 year these days and do hard 3d in about 2 to 3 years with simpractise

The carnage is the way they destroyed a so fine mechanic without having the knowledge of a simple beginner. I liosten Mythbusters, but this episode was a total lost of money without learning anything.

@gaetanboiv agreed ,after this episode ,i idnt watch them again,the magic wore off after this heli episode

and now its clear they are really fools that are estructive

a bit same as some rednecks on you tube shooting rc helis/planes out of the air with automatic rifles

seems pretty much the us philosofy ,if you dont understand it ,destroy it

you can lose half the flybar and the paddle in flight and it wont crash, so a stamp would do not a thing

@justinRkeaton true ,,theh used the excuse before expirimenting putting a stamp on a real hughes 500 ,they needed a scale test ,,they spent all money for this episode on that heli ; )

I fly rc helis and I put a piece of electrical tape on the end of one blade to check the tracking, it has absolutely no effect on the heli. Ive also had a fly-bar snap off mid-flight, that makes the heli wobble and shake a bit but is still easy to fly back in and land without a problem.If the guys told the blokes at the hobby shop what they were doing the salesman would have told them pretty much the same thing, thus busting the myth there and then

putting a stamp on wont do a dam thing i have tapped blades back togeter with packing no ill affect and tape is alot heavery then a stamp

@bassax7045 Walkera has been getting better the V120D02S is actually a good submicro CP once you make a few mods to it and the Genius CP is pretty good right out of the box (though making the skids part of the frame was a bad idea). Their radios are actually very good.

@AfghanKnight007 You can learn to tail-in hover in a few days on a CP heli if you have some experience with fixed pitch helis but really being able to fly it will take longer.

Helicopters are the god tier of RC. Even those who can already fly RC planes usually give up in frustration.

not sad bout em wrecking tha r/c MD-500 now if it had a jet cat powering it i would be pissed but nitro is jst messy as hell evr where the exhaust hits that oily smoke if u dnt rub it down 20,000xxx with alcohol dirt jst cakes up, jet cat way better
